Certificate IV in Leadership and Management Course

The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

At the end of the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management course, participants will gain further knowledge and skills in:

Those with a good understanding of leadership and management; or those persons who want to extend their knowledge and experience in the field of leadership in the context of their current employment or to improve future employment opportunities through formal qualifications.

This qualification is about providing the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to undertake job roles such as Team Leaders and Supervisors. This also relates to experienced Team Leaders and Supervisors with Qualifications and skills obtained through other sources of employment or training; such as the Police Force, Corrections and Defence. They may choose to formalise their experience by attaining this Qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning or Current Competency.

Our Certificate IV in Leadership and Management course is delivered over six (6) months divided into over six (6) clusters.

This course has been designed to work in with those who have a busy schedule or are in FIFO roles.

Our delivery approach allows for practical application to learning, rather than death by powerpoint presentation, our classroom delivery is a mix of theory and practical based learning.

The delivered content is then followed up with the opportunity to apply what you have learned into a workplace setting before moving onto the next session.

This learning strategy enhances the ability of learners to solidify their learning, as well as providing a fun and enjoyable learning experience.

The workplace project will bring your existing and newly acquired skills and knowledge together and implement this into your current work practices.

Nominal training hours for this Qualification equals to 425 hours, which is broken down into 128 hours of supervised instruction and 297 hours of unsupervised activities in the development of an Workplace Operational Plan

You will have access to our highly qualified industry experienced Trainer who can provide you with guidance to assist you with completion timeframes for each unit to suit your study goals! You also have access to the Trainer throughout your study period to answer any questions you may have or help you overcome any stumbling blocks you may encounter.

Pathways into the qualification

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

• BSB30115 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualifications, or
• with vocational experience in a supervisory role but no formal qualification

Suggested pathways for further study after completion of this qualification include:

• BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety;
• CPP40719 Certificate IV in Security Management;
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business;
• BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management;
• BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resources Management; or
• BSB50215 Diploma of Business

Participants may be a minimum age of 18 years to attend.

Must live in and have a Western Australian residential address.

Applicants must demonstrate good language, literacy and numeracy as our courses combine plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and developing the skills that will be needed in their job role.

All students must bring ID with them to the training course. Photo ID is the minimum requirement (e.g. Drivers Licence, Passport or similar).

Recommended to have completed a Certificate III in a similar qualification with leadership units of competency.

USI Number Requirements:

All students doing nationally recognised training from January 1, 2018 need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). For more details and to create a USI go to the Government USI site here.

To achieve a nationally recognised qualification, participants are required to complete an assessment project, complete course readings and written assessments. Assessment details will be provided with course materials.

Assessment due date – as agreed with the learner and outlined within the training and assessment plan.

A testamur for the qualification BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management will be issued following successful completion of this course and can be used to seek credit transfer towards achieving an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning is available to persons who have extensive experience in Management, Coordinator or Supervisory space or related fields. If you have over 12 months experience fulfilling a supervisory role, you should consider the RPL process by undertaking a self-assessment against the competency standards of this qualification.

Assessment is conducted via a detailed portfolio of evidence, workbook, questions and written scenarios to support your claim for RPL. Further information about the RPL process will be explained prior to enrolment with any of our training assessor. Where you and your Impact assessor can identify if there are any requirements for further training, you may choose to do this through the completion of individual units (at an additional fee)

Fee for service – Normally $2,200, but for a limited time $2,000 ($500 non-refundable deposit on enrolment)

RPL – $1,800 ($500 non-refundable deposit on enrolment) excludes gap training
